Terms of use

1. Mentulis is not medical care or an emergency service

Mentulis offers self-help tools, games and information for general wellbeing. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition and is not a substitute for a doctor, psychologist or other professional. If you are in crisis or danger, call your local emergency number or use the “Need help now” button to reach a crisis line.

2. Who can use Mentulis

You must be 16 or older. Psychologist sessions are only for adults 18 or older who are physically in Ontario, Canada, at the time of each session.

3. Pip, the AI companion

Pip’s replies are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be wrong or not suited to you, and they are not professional advice. Don’t rely on Pip for medical, legal or financial decisions. Free users can send a limited number of messages per day.

4. Premium subscriptions

Premium is sold through Google Play or the App Store and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Refunds follow the store’s refund policy and the law where you live.

5. Psychologist sessions

Sessions are provided by independent psychologists registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, under their own professional responsibility. Your clinical relationship is with your psychologist, who will ask you to agree to their own consent and practice terms. Booking is not open yet; you can join the waitlist in the app. Once it opens, packages are paid in advance through the app. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before a session; later cancellations and missed sessions may be charged. Unused sessions in a package can be refunded on request within 12 months.

6. Using Mentulis fairly

Please don’t:

• misuse Pip or try to make it produce harmful content;
• copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app;
• interfere with our servers or other people’s use of Mentulis.

7. Our content

Mentulis, Sprout, the games, sounds, artwork and text belong to Mentulis Inc. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app. What you write in the app is yours.

8. Liability

We work hard to keep Mentulis helpful and available, but it is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; we will tell you in the app about important changes before they apply. You can stop using Mentulis at any time by deleting your account (Profile › Delete my account) and the app. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously broken.

10. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada, without removing any protection you have under the laws of the place where you live. Questions: hello@mentulis.com.
